You can't beat Scottrade. Plus there is no opening, closing or custodial fees for IRA accounts with Scottrade. I moved my Roth from Amerprise a year ago because I had the same issue you did with the $19.95 to sell and then another $4.95 processing fee. Amerprise charged me $75 to transfer my account over to Scottrade, but I have made up the difference. Scottrade does not charge you to purchase mutual funds or bonds and that is a big thing for me with retirement money. They charge you $7 for stock trades.
